1st Meadow Covert Scout Group
1st Meadow Covert Scout Group provides adventure, fun and Skills for Life for girls and boys aged between 4 and 14 from Edwalton, Gamston and West Bridgford. We have around 75 young people belonging to our group which is made up of a Squirrel drey, Beaver colony, Cub pack and a Scout troop, all supported by around twenty adult volunteers.
Sunday: 17.00 - 18.00
Every week, Squirrels will gather to grow and learn their way through lots of different games and activities. Squirrels can achieve anything they set their minds to – and they have lots of fun along the way.
Monday: 18.15 - 19.15
Beaver Scouts are our youngest members. They usually meet weekly to take part in a wide range of activities including games, crafts, singing, visits and good turns, along with plenty of outdoor activities.
Friday: 18.15 - 19.45
For Cubs, excitement and adventure are key. Their programme offers a huge variety of activities surrounding areas of fitness, global and beliefs; whilst allowing them to be creative and get involved in their local communities.
Monday: 19.30 - 21.00
Outdoor activities feature prominently, with the highlight being camping. Throughout the year, Scouts learn various skills, such as map reading, camp cooking and first aid in preparation for camp.
Scout Membership in West Bridgford is organised by Rushcliffe District Scouts - Please visit our Joining page to register your interest.
You don’t have to be an adventurer to get involved with Scouting. Do you have first aid knowledge? Are you good with numbers? Handy in the kitchen? Or are you a DIY whizz? We all have useful skills and you can volunteer and help in many ways.
